Chocolate Dome Cake

I made this cake for my sister Laura’s birthday last weekend. It turned out fantastic. Everyone loved it. Finally getting around to posting a picture.

I saw this on an old Julia Child’s Baking program with Michel Richard and had to try it. The recipe consists of a genoise cake cut into layers and soaked with an orange syrup, then the layers are filled with chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries, that is finally covered with chocolate.

You need a 4 cup stainless steel bowl about 8″ wide to bake the genoise cake.  It can be made a few days ahead.
